"We were not able to write because power supply was disconnected. The cell towers were also not working properly, because of the earthquake, and still they are not working properly.
By the grace of our Lord almighty we all are safe and sound. Everybody had to evacuate the house, except my son Shray and daughter Yadricha. Everybody forgot them. After everything had settled we came to know that they were left in the house. Shray was holding the TV and Yadricha was enjoying the shake.
Many of our neighbors' houses have cracks but we don't have any damage. Our main building is earthquake resistance. All the people in the area were evacuated to safe shelters by the Municipality. Almost 60 houses were affected by the quake, twenty five of which were totally damaged.
The building where our orphanage used to be, in a nearby village, is totally damaged. Some part of it came down which could have easily injured any of us. Many houses in that locality were damaged. But our Lord answered our prayer and moved us to a safe place on time. After the quake that old orphanage building is facing water scarcity as all the pipelines have been broken by land slides. This will take almost a month to be repaired. But at the new location we have our own water source.
All the children are praying for you all. Thanks again for remembering us in your prayers. Kindly convey the news to everybody and be with us in prayer for one of our boarding studentís parents who live in Lachung, Sikkim where after the disaster the rescue teams have not been able to reach the victims. All the people in those areas are totally disconnected and no one knows what happened to them.
God bless you."
