Ashish

The Ashish Home is an orphanage located near central Nepal. In operation since 2001, the Ashish Home is home to 35 children. Although the children come from heartbreaking backgrounds, the orphanage staff are doing their best to give the children love and stability, and to meet their needs. An organization from India supported the Ashish Home since its inception but in the spring of 2007 decided to downsize its Nepal operation, and soon thereafter funding to the Ashish Home stopped. The situation at the orphanage became desperate, to the point of selling the carpets in order to keep the orphanage going. At about this time Kidstown came to know about the Ashish Home and a new partnership was formed.
